What happens next?

Although my Master Design journey has come to an end, the research certainly hasn’t.

Over the past months, Living Without Letters has grown from a series of small experiments into a game that helps people experience how much our society depends on reading and writing. Every play session brought new insights, new conversations and new opportunities to improve the experience.

The next step is making the game easier to play and more accessible. I am currently developing a web app that supports the gameplay better, making it easier for facilitators to run sessions while creating a smoother experience with the audio and picture matching for participants.

At the same time, I am looking for a partner who can help publish and distribute the game. My ambition is for Living Without Letters to be used by municipalities, educational institutions, healthcare organisations and other public organisations that want to better understand the impact of low literacy and reflect on how they communicate with the people they serve.

For me, this project has never been about the game itself. It is about creating conversations, building empathy and encouraging organisations to design communication that works for everyone.

I am excited to see where the next chapter will lead.
